In spinning technology, the nylon fiber is processed into nylon tops before they can be spun into yarn. After washing and combing nylon tops, it undergoes combing and the preparation and finishing process before and after to produce combed nylon tops, which are then spun into yarn, making it a combed woolen spinning. This process includes processes such as combing, trimming, combing, finishing and re washing, combing, roving, and fine spinning.
Nylon6/66 are used in many applications including tops due to their excellent performance/cost ratios
- High strength and stiffness at high temperature
- Good impact strength, even at low temperature
- Very good flow for easy processing
- Good abrasion and wear resistance
- Excellent fuel and oil resistance
- Good fatigue resistance
- Good electrical insulating properties
- High water absorption and water equilibrium content limit the usage
- Low dimensional stability
- Attacked by strong mineral acids and absorbs polar solvents
- Proper drying before processing is needed
Nylon tops are widely used in yarn spinning and blended with wool.
