Cool feeling fibers mainly consist of chemical fibers, which add substances with good thermal conductivity to the spinning solution of the fibers. For example, jade fibers, which are nano powders of minerals such as jade or mica, are added to the spinning solution of the fibers. By utilizing the characteristics of these minerals, which have good thermal conductivity and slow heat absorption, the fibers have a cool feeling function. The phase-change temperature regulating fiber mentioned in warm keeping textiles can also be used to make cool feeling textiles, because the phase-change material can not only produce exothermic reaction through phase change at low temperature to make textiles have warm keeping function, but also can produce endothermic reaction through reverse phase change at high temperature to make textiles have cool feeling function.
Cool finish is mainly used to make use of the characteristics of cool finish that is easy to volatilize, or endothermic reaction occurs when encountering water, so that the heat of the skin will be taken away by the volatilization of the finishing agent after the textile contacts the skin, or the skin surface temperature will be reduced because the finishing agent has a endothermic reaction with the sweat of the skin. Common cool finish agents such as peppermint oil with good volatility, xylitol with endothermic reaction when encountering water, etc.
